It’s really bizzare to me that the only takeaway most people are getting is “humans are inherently better than other animals by merit of being human, so any comparison you make to another animal is offensive” and not “maybe repeated forcible impregnation for someone’s entire life so I can have an unnecessary food product is a fucked up thing to do”. That’s the bit that stands out the most I would think?

Humans aren’t more important than animals unless you strongly believe might makes right, which I’d hope you don’t. Just because you can do something to other animals doesn’t mean you should.

As far as I’m concerned, at the bare minimum anyone who thinks certain kinds of people shouldn’t exist is a bad person. The right wing of the political spectrum is very interested in ensuring only the “right” kinds of people get to exist, or at least exist freely.

Probably more like a wild ride would hold my interest better, but I’m not necessarily opposed to thinking.

I’m not generally into movies, but I like them every once in a blue moon. I usually enjoy action, thrillers, comedies and specifically romcoms I think. Books I usually read urban fantasy, things like the Mercy Thompson series, or light sci fi (not usually space operas). I have pretty trash taste I think overall.

There was a terrible fucking movie called Warriors of Virtue with people in horrifying kangaroo suits, some Russian Christianity propaganda film (same friend was responsible for both), and I had fun watching Death Becomes Her.

Hostage, it was a mediocre to decent Bruce Willis action flick about teenagers holding a family for ransom. It’s been a long time since I saw it, but I remember one of the villains being incredibly unsettling and disturbing throughout.

I’m fine with whatever delusions people want to hold as long as they do it away from me. I’m just not interested in thanking a fictional character who hates me.
