22·1 day agoThere’s a theory called the “Monopoly on violence” which says that people will allow the government to commit violent acts against them as long as they believe that the government is legitimate and that there is no other group that can do this.
I’m loving Doom Dark ages, I’m on about level 8 out of 22. I like that there’s enough room in levels to move around. Movement is awesome, you can just run everywhere. The weapons are extremely effective and your toolkit is reduced so you have shield-block shield-slam shield-throw melee and then guns. It’s pretty easy to remember everything you have and then select an appropriate attack for the situation.
I really love it. Hopefully there aren’t any more Mech-pilot missions because that one sucked. The dragon wasn’t my favorite either but you can make it through without much difficulty and it didn’t take forever.
5·2 days agoI’m just trying to find out what about this is upsetting for the person I replied to.
If we have half of last year’s deaths at 5 months (instead of at 6 months), then it is an increase of 16% which, for weather, is within the scope of what I would expect from one year to another. It’s about 4 more deaths in the first 5 months than last year.
Of course this year’s deaths might have been lower than last year without Trump’s intervention. It’s possible his actions will cause dozens of deaths by the end of the year.
People don’t wish to help fight the war on drugs. Why should they? Are you destroyed by people’s indifference to drug advertising or are you making a general statement not necessarily about this story? Are you okay with legal prescription drugs being advertised? Or is it the illegality that’s a moral issue with you??

In reality a 125% tariff isn’t possible. An item with a $10 landed cost would suddenly cost like $22.50 so if the item sold to the end user for $13 before, now it will be $25.50 just to keep a $3 profit margin. Now your up front investment has doubled which drains cash flow. Your sales will drop.

Colombia is forced to fight this war against cocaine farmers and traffickers, the government against its own people. The Colombian president is trying to ease the pressure and bring light to the situation. His statement about the illegality because it comes from South America is valid, although possibly not 100% verifiable. We have an opiate crisis going on in the US, driven by big pharma, people are pushed to get prescriptions they don’t need. It’s still legal, nobody went to jail for selling oxycontin and all that other shit. The war on drugs was always a war on counter culture and minorities.
