I really enjoyed watching Oxhorn play Silent Hill 2 remake, well, once he stopped smashing windows obsessively. Also enjoyed games like The Quarry, Until Dawn etc but they might not be your type of thing.

I spent a Christmas alone once and absolutely loved it. It was nice to have some “me” time without having to deal with the Hoi Polloi.

How comes you’re going to be alone this year? Is there anything fun you can get up to on the day? (hobby or something?) if possible and appropriate try and have as much “fun” as possible; whether if it’s relaxing and having a bath or reading a book with some tea.

Interesting - I’m surprised to hear so many don’t experience this. I’ve used Steam chat on Arch and EndeavourOS for years, and I’ve always found the desktop client to feel a little sluggish, with menus and emoji pickers being particularly finicky. I wonder if it’s related to certain desktop environments or specific setups?

Good call. I use it sometimes, but I find it has its own quirks: GIFs always fail to play for me.

Yeah, I think people who say that don’t realize a few key things.

First, they don’t understand the ‘poverty tax’ - how not having money for things like a security deposit, reliable transportation, or bulk buying actually costs you more in the long run.

And second, they don’t see how thin the margin for error is for most middle-class families. One medical bill or job loss is all it takes to fall behind.

I’m right there with you. To be honest, I’m still figuring out Lemmy myself; like how it’s different from Mastodon and why content sometimes crosses over. It seems straightforward to a lot of people, but it’s a learning curve for me lol.
