  • Texan here as well.

Yes, the sex education that was provided was horrible, probably still is.

Thankfully, between the internet and other sources of factual information, most of us figured it out. Most.

That being said, there were quite a few girls who left our campus for a long duration, and some for a shorter duration.

Well, I was in a networking class and me and my friends were poking around the network.

Now, what we did was in no way shape or form hacking.

We navigated to the nurse’s computer, labeled for convenience, and started poking around. Open access to it. HIPPA information, etc.

Anyways, the girls who left for a long time got knocked up, had a baby etc.

The short timers were usually a combination of suspension and some STD.

We missed the next period reporting the security concern to administration.

We did not mention we were responsible for the network outage the previous month; but if a batch file placed in the autostart of a few computers can bring the school down, they deserved it. We just wanted to cause some chaos and blow off a day where we all had classes in computer labs.

  • I worked at an elementary school (public) in a very red state.

I had been overhauling the library computers (I was IT) all day and had been chatting with the librarian. Cool chick, probably 10 years older than me, so late 30s. I was dating my wife at the time, so I wasn’t looking to date, but got invited out for drinks with other librarians from the district.

After a few rounds, the topic turned to censorship, book bans, etc.

Every single one of them, from the churchy prim and proper lady, to the more alternative types, we against banning books and discussed how to get the kids access and and encourage them to read them, without losing their jobs.

I had to shutdown their plan to distribute cheap flash drives with banned material on them a la guerilla distribution - ie, leave it where kids would find them.

And that is why next week Mr. Case’s cyber security BS thing was about how we don’t plug random shit we find in to computers.

  • I’ve done a little volunteer work, and in the past I’ve donated financially to various charities.

At the moment, my last paycheck was for two days, and it took 5 months to get this job.

So, currently, no. I’m trying to get back in the saddle, pay off some shit, and start saving for emergencies again.

Also, you know, eating at least once a day can be nice, even if it seems like a luxury some days.

  • I had some, before I moved.

Let me just say this, what came easy to young me in boy scouts… well, I’m just glad if I hit a safe area in the general direction I’m aiming.

The other issues is as a boy I shot off the right of the riser on a longbow, and this was an off the left takedown (recurve) bow - still the amount I sucked surprised me a little, lol.

So hopefully you have time to practice.

  • I played the first PS. Loved it. If memory serves, I usually cloaked up, used a knife, and tried to capture stuff.

PS2, well… I played the beta, I didn’t care for the stealth changes. Then, it released and I played a little… just couldn’t maintain my interest, plus the unlock system was kinda punishing and made it seem too P2W for me.

  • Grew up in Texas. Moved recently, to another state.

The bible, or lack thereof, isn’t the issue in Texas schooling. Nor the countrywide issue of gun violence.

This is clear governmental overreach and defies separation of church and state.

Fuck these clowns. Sideways, with a two foot dildo covered in shark skin. Twice, so they don’t forget the lesson.

PS: As an anecdote, up to fourth grade I was enrolled at a christian private school. Parents had money at the time, and they were touted to have the best education. I learned more about the dark, nasty, terrible side of life there than I did any other time in school - and I watched a kid get dragged down the hall by his ear by a former marine for smoking crack in the bathroom when I was in public school. I also would have never learned how to play poker or blackjack in a public school, lol.
