Scalpers amassed appointments using bots and fake accounts to exploit an online system. The Tax Collector’s Office spotted 200 suspicious appointments in the first three weeks after opening a new downtown Miami location for driver’s license services, the Miami Herald reports. The agency has its sights set on individuals who are part of local driving schools as suspects in strangling the DMV’s system. Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez said in a release:

Also, the whole point is allowing states to manage their own infrastructure.

No it’s not, that’s just republican rhetoric they violate the instant they have government power.

Perhaps you can tell me what country you’re from and I can look up some ways your infrastructure is crap?

Denmark, and good luck with that. 🤣

Denmark is significantly smaller than the US, and it would make sense to have everything on a federal level. In fact Denmark is about the size of many US states. It’s smaller than West Virginia:

The republicans do have a lot of rhetoric and hypocrisy. But since things aren’t one system for everything, it prevents a single insane president from being able to fuck everything up at once. (Although it does seem that everyone is getting fucked these days)

For example, Abortion. If it was totally federal (which it was for a while) then Trump could have banned it outright. Now, it goes back to the states and the people who choose to live in shit states get shit for dinner.

As a person who is married to someone of the same sex, I’m pretty glad that my state had same sex marriage before it was recognized nationally. We will see how long it takes for that to be yanked away.

Believe me, I’m no fan of this country, but if you’re going to laugh and crack jokes at least know what you’re talking about.

Denmark is significantly smaller than the US

Did you just now realize that most countries of the world are smaller than USA?

Yes we are smaller, and that of course makes more even services easier. But it doesn’t make it cheaper. To develop the software for the IT infrastructure is about 60 times more expensive for us than it would be for USA, if USA leveraged the power of scale.

So it is also a HUGE disadvantage regarding cost of deployment per capita.

Here we have same sex marriage in the whole country, free healthcare, free education, one of the best democracies in the world and highest level of freedom of speech too, longer life expectancy, higher HDI, way less poverty despite USA is richer! Half the CO2 per capita, higher quality of life (happiness) index. And it just goes on and on.

When I say USA is a shitty country, it really is compared to Denmark, and many European countries. Even the best states of USA don’t compare to Denmark on the quality of society.
And that’s despite USA is a richer country!

I feel like this is an attempt at an insult, but you failed.

          Source?

You’re trying so hard to feel superior. Very American lol. It’s quite funny. I’m not disagreeing that many, many other countries are a better place to live than the US. I’m just saying you know absolutely nothing about the US, or how its government works. All you know about is the rhetoric you speak of, and what you hear in the news.

There is a reason that states maintain control over local issues.

            Source?

            Source: my brain.
USA has 60 times more people, and the IT development cost the same disregarding the size of population, hence the cost for USA is only a 60th per capita.

I’m just saying you know absolutely nothing about the US, or how its government works.

Bullshit, I’ve been to USA, and I follow lots of American news, so I probably know more than the average American.

                This is allowed in USA!!
                https://boulderweekly.com/news/jail-visitation-boulder-county/

And then Americans wonder why we see your dystopian country as extremely stupid and shitty.
Do you even have a clue know stupid Americans sound when they boast about American exceptionalism and freedom which are both lies?
Wake up and accept the state of your country, that’s a requirement for fixing it.

There are lots of good Americans, but the country as a society is mentally ill.

No one here is boasting about American exceptionalism. And it’s pretty childish to just go grab random links and say “here, this is bad!” All US news is bad news lol. Everyone in the US knows the prison system is broken—in most states.

Again, I’m not here to defend the US. I’m just saying you know nothing about the US besides the crap you read online, and the more you talk the more you prove that.

No one here is boasting about American exceptionalism.

That was not an accusation against you, but a general observation. And I must admit that it seems Americans have become a bit more modest lately.

                    here, this is bad!

No that’s not it, it’s not just bad, it’s part of a systemic problem that permeates USA.

you know nothing about the US besides the crap you read online,

That’s a weird statement, since I’ve already told you I’ve been to USA, and so has many of my friends. Danes are among the most traveling people in the world, so I think the one who displays ignorance here is you. Also not all you read on the net is crap, there are reliable sources, and I very much filter by that.
