  • It’s kind of funny IMO, because the tax on Chinese cars is not that high, AFAIK it’s generally around 13%, but lower if the company cooperate with the EU investigation.
Here in Denmark, also IMO of course, Chinese cars don’t seem that attractive over European or Korean cars.
All reviews I see, seems to have complaints about the quality of the Chinese cars. Not build quality, but how they drive and bugs in assist systems. Yes you get a car that looks as good and with more features, but western cars still beat them on quality in similar price ranges.
But maybe Chinese cars could be sold cheaper here if they wanted to, and they are just maximizing profits?
But personally I’m not impressed with the price of Chinese cars in Europe, even when subtracting 13%.

  • Because both January and February are traditionally slow months, but next year will be worse than normal. My guess is that there will be a lot of firing, in part because many businesses will be slow, and second because they can’t afford to hold people on for things to look up in in March/spring, and third because many probably will be skeptical that things will look up enough to keep people on anyway.

But all in all it’s mostly a gut feeling from 30 years in business, and although I am not American, I know business in USA is harsher regarding these things than what is normal in Europe.

  • You ain’t seen nothing yet.
Just wait until February. Then the bottom will really fall out of the job market.
And if the current policies are continued, it will continue to get worse YOY.
Foreign investments are declining, and the dollar is weak, so inflation and job losses will continue.
I think that’s what they call stagflation. A combination of the worst of an overheated economy and an economy in recession.
Enjoy the things that are free, you may need to “consume” more of those things in the future.

  • The immorality in USA is insane. It’s been a well known fact for more than half a century, that death penalty is against democratic values.
If you don’t believe that, try to read for instance this piece:
    https://www.qmul.ac.uk/media/news/2024/hss/why-the-death-penalty-is-incompatible-with-democracy.html

Yet USA has persisted with this evil, because USA is a society of violence and evil. Upholding slavery longer than any democracy, still oppressing minorities, denying healthcare to the poor, extreme punishments with for instance 3 times and you’re out, resulting in insanely disproportionate punishment. Having the highest imprisoned population in the world, no matter how you measure it. Having unlivable minimum wage despite being among the richest countries in the world. Refusing to seriously amend weapons regulations despite regular mass/school shootings.

The list goes on and on, USA is a sociopathic society with no comparison among countries USA is normally compared to.

How did USA become this crazy? Is it because USA is based on Christian cults, so USA is built on delusions and outright insanity?
IDK why, but USA for sure is an outlier as a society, and it doesn’t help that it’s based on a seriously flawed democracy.

I am looking forward to the day where USA isn’t an influence on the rest of the world like it used to be.
