Arianespace hasn’t publicly disclosed the cost for an Ariane 6 launch.

Kinda misleading headline. They cancelled some upgrades for the upper stage, which were important for some deep space science missions (which sucks), but would have not helped with the cost issue. AFAIK the planned upgrade to replace the side boosters with reusable ones is still on the table.
