One of my dogs would love it too. She is a dachshund and loves hiding and burrowing.

    No absolutely not!

The little orange Zip is already dragging socks under the bed to fight. I would never be able to get them back

My dumbass cats would get lost down there and we’d have to let them out twice a night

Maybe my cats are weird, but I’ve never really had the 2 am zoomie issue. One spends most of the night by my feet. I don’t know what the other two usually do, but if I get up to use the bathroom, I’ll often see them lounging in the hallway, like they’re holding a meeting.

Hmm, isn’t scent one of those senses tied closely to memory and is permeable to a mattress?

Also, at OP, cleaning wouldn’t be too difficult. Lift mattress, apply vacuum hose.

Many double mattresses are super unwieldy and heavy. You try to lift them, they just end up bending from one side, super annoying. your waist also does not thank you after this process.

“Cats can see in the dark because the structure of their eyes, and specifically their retinas, permits them ‘better’ vision than humans when light levels are low,” Plummer said. “Cats have a higher percentage and concentration of rod photoreceptors than humans, which means they have better sensitivity to light, and can see more in low levels of illumination than we can.”

I understand that, but the center has no light. Or does it have a dim LED?

there’s still enough light for cats, believe me; and they use their whiskers as navigational aid too btw
