The game awards begins roughly ~11 hours from now. what announcements are you hoping for?
Todd Howard flayed alive on live televison.
The disappointment in my brother’s eyes when Half Life 3 isn’t announced…
… and mine too :(
Fucking REAL.
Like every other year until it or the next thing
Hopium administered
beep beep “WARNING: User DEAD, Imminent”
Truly, lol. He was disappointed because he thought the MegaMan reveal was talking about Gordon Freeman.
Megaman hasn’t even done anything wrong (yet)… but we HATES IT!
It wasn’t MegaMan Legends, and therefore I do not care. Capcom can stay losing with my wallet.
Crowbcat compilation. Tbh I didn’t know they were still doing that Game Awards
I really want a release date for Clockwork Revolution and Judas.
Is this the one where devolver digital does something goofy? That’s usually pretty fun
They might have, but I mostly remember their E3 shows.
I’ve never cared for it - the entire show’s awards and announcements could be YouTube Shorts that I can pick and choose to watch, and I’d get exactly the same thing out of it.
I wait a day and then check for a megathread with bullet points, then see if there is anything of interest to me.
Half Life 3
Half-Life Alyx 2
Wouldn’t be way out of left field with the new headset they already announced
It would be because Valve said they are not in the process of making a new VR game.
Right after bloodborne 2
We know HL3 is happening, and if you trust Jeff Grubb (you probably should), we know nothing is happening with Bloodborne right now.
Its gonna happen bro
For me lies of p is peak of the genre and I want another game from that studio. I’ve never actually managed to finish another souls/soulslike.
I’ve been expecting it the last couple of games showcases where there were rumors too. I will say the new hardware launch makes the rumors more compelling, but I will literally not believe it until I see it. I’m fully expecting the event to end on a dumb note and to say “that’s it!?” like the last couple of times I got my hopes up
None of it.
Half Life 3 it’s gonna be there I can feel it in my bones I’m not crazy
it’s coming any day now…
Star Wars Total War
What I wouldn’t give for a sequel to Empire at War
Larian
Fromsoft
Nintendo
Those are probably the only developers in the AAA world that are not selling money printing skinner boxes but the games are still fun.
Indie devs don’t have money to advertise on that shitty show.
I guess that depends on where your cutoff is for AAA, but if you’re including FromSoft, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II just came out this year at a similar level of budget and production value. And I know people have their issues with Unreal, but it really has raised the bar for what a “AA” might be capable of. The likes of Avowed, The Outer Worlds 2, The Alters, Split Fiction, and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 this year (and games like The Thaumaturge last year) are all what we would have expected out of a AAA game in the not-too-distant past, most of which comes down to scope, where a lot of AAAs are arguably doing too much.
I haven’t played any of those yet but isn’t the subject what we’re looking forward to seeing at the Game Awards? I’m not sure if those studios are rumored to be announcing anything on the show.
I’m gonna have to toss a going between Expedition 33 and KCD2. They both seem like my type of game
Personally I’m hoping for
- Larian’s next game announcement
- info on Light no Fire
- anything by fromsoftware
- a new final fantasy game that isn’t based on ff7
- the new bioshock game that was rumored for years now
Sqenix can’t make good games anymore, I am sorry.
I suspect Larian will take their sweet time.
Bioshock sounds like it’s in development hell; I’d be suspicious of that.
Larian’s next game is the teased statue that Keighley tweeted, so they’ll have something to announce tonight. The only thing they said it isn’t is Divinity: Original Sin 3, but it could be a different Divinity RPG, or a looter like the old-school Divinities, or a new Dragon Commander, or a new spin-off entirely. They’re also a multi-project studio now.
Oh that’s awesome. Yeah, I see the rumors now:
Selfishly, I hope their other half’a working on a sci fi game. Or a cyberpunk one?
Shadowrun? Gods, that IP would be perfect for Larian.
I’d very much like to see them do a sci-fi setting, like Starfield, but as a turn-based CRPG (with more thought and heart put into it).
Yeah, please no Starfield. I love space opera, I love Oblivion and Fallout, jank and all, but the Starfield I got through was so boring.
I’d rather them continue GOTG. I’m not a Marvel person, but the GOTG game was great.
Nah, Larian will jump the gun, release too early and have another bug infested game. They need to reduce their scope, actually take their time and make a great RPG. BG3 was too much for them, a smaller more refined experience would have been amazing, they shouldn’t chase “bigger is better”.
BG3 turned out well, though?
Ignoring all the problems, sure. You could get through it, but there were lots of bugs and inconsistencies. I played again recently after all the patches and while it was much better, it still had it’s fair share of issues. The overall game, lore and story is very good, though I think DOS combat is far superior for a video game than DnD.
Same for FF but also no tactical shite either, turn based is fine but the damn chessboard shit was enough during the 3DS era, so many great stories ruined by the gameplay.
I just want to see some more exceptionalism from Flute Guy.
Oh hell yeah, we get to see him go ham on some Clair Obscur music.
The real reason to watch
My wife and I was laughing at that a while back. He’s great.
Always a highlight of the show. I hope he never cuts his hair.
I am really hoping to see FF7R Part 3 reveal.
I know it’s not everybody’s cup of tea, but I love that series so far.
Please… It’s time to let them go. Square has been on life support for the past 25 years. Just… You have to let them go. I’m sorry. I loved them, too.
Steam box price and release date, more Slay the Spire 2 info, next Zelda teaser. All very unlikely.
