I’m a squirrel. The german word for squirrel is Eichhörnchen, which is hard to pronounce for english speakers. The english word for Eichhörnchen is squirrel, which is hard to pronounce for german speakers. And I think that’s beautiful :)

Fuckin’ a, I had to share that with !anarchychess@sopuli.xyz

This is the first time I translated “bless you”. I never knew it was something religious. In german we simply say “health” (Gesundheit) when someone sneezes.

Work simulators and games which gameplay loops turn out to be work simulators in disguise.

A couple of things come to mind:

It’s smaller and friendlier, no ads, no big tech, non-commercial, open source and I can host my own instance on a potato that connects me to people all around the globe.

You could run a PeerTube instance to mirror other people’s videos. The more mirrors, the more decentralized it gets. But it takes some manual curation of videos or instances you want to mirror.
Sooo slooow…

Hi, I’ve read this statement a couple times now. These are my five cents: Your grammar doesn’t have to be perfect, your spelling doesn’t have to be perfect, your text doesn’t have to be perfect. I’ll always prefer human written text with small little errors over AI-corrected text. English isn’t my first language and I probably make errors here and there, but these can lead to funny little mistakes, maybe new words and never before read sentences get created. Human language is beautiful, despite or because of it’s errors. Have a nice day.

You mean my cat on cozy.talk? 6 hours ago
You did a good

Why don’t you do it?
Exactly. Fork it, make GoFed, extend the Fediverse. That’s how open source works.

Exciting thought

Before most trolling became toxic, there was the variant of light trolling which was nice and very fun. I remember one person presenting a talk at a hacker conference about trolling, but all they did was talking about trolling as in fishing… for the whole talk. It was a nice way to waste everyone’s time.
Go to https://ecosia.org/ in a private browser window. It says “AI that answers to the planet”. Search something and the AI Overview on top is enabled by default.
I use them with AI disabled, but it should be the default setting.
Edit: I just did a couple test searches and didn’t get the AI overview. Don’t know what triggers it.
