So when a city actually caves and says they’re not paying and to take them down, Flock doesn’t want to, they’re fine paying the operating costs, because that makes government agencies (and anyone else) more of a reason to buy in.
This is America, corporations are going to want that data, like they want everything else.
People get hung up on local governments taking bribes to let Flock in, but the real way to convince local politicians, is to make them understand (or even just feel like) Flock is grifting them and the bribes should be 1,000x higher.
At least make it more expensive, we need to start fighting like we’re corporations, and start exploring every vector that increases their costs to kill their businesses.
That ability is also somewhat overstated, they need a lot more information about your house than most people have and they need to be in range of your WiFi. Though the first part has become less of an issue with ML/AI.
More importantly though there is no reason to do that when there is already specialized equipment specifically for tracking objects through obstacles that can’t be thwarted by you turning off your router. Starting with things like IR cameras and moving up to the latest cutting edge imaging systems.
I can’t find it now but I saw a video of a system like this being used in the field in Iraq ~20 years ago.
Replace the bags on the cameras with faraday bags/cages. No damage to property, but no signal in or out. Slap a high voltage sign on it to make anyone who wants to remove it hesitate a bit.

Wifi can be used to detect a persons location in a room and the layout of the room. I’m sure this can be applied to almost any radio signal.
EDIT: Also coupled with gait analysis, they could potentially still track movements of specific people by audio alone.
The resolution is likely limited by the wavelength of the signal.
A 5GHz radio has about a 55mm wavelength. At the top of the 6E/7 spectrum that shoots down to about 42mm.
Broadcast Radio (87-108MHz) has a wavelength of 2.7m.
I don’t see how a lower frequency signal could be of significant use for modeling 3d objects.
