It may be time for Take Two to step in…if they didnt have a billion dollars waiting when GTA6 drops
It’s a Ken Levine game, this is totally expected. If anyone’s aware the creator is notorious for making games that take forever and succumbing to development hell before the studio steps in and finishes it for him. Bioshock Infinite had so much cut content and reworks and even Ken admitted if the studio didn’t tell him to stop messing around, the game wouldn’t have seen the light of day.
Still very excited for this game though. At the very least, it’ll be good if it ever launches.

Including this one, it happened like twice. Prior to that, Irrational put out 5 games in 6 years, which was maybe a little faster than the industry cadence at the time.
I saw the trailer and coming from the same creator of Bioshock it seems good, his imagination is truly amazing. They released that banger OST in the first trailer, nobody knows the name, probably some exclusive song.
BioShock Infinite took long enough and the finished product was significantly less interesting than the previews. This looks like it’s going to take twice as long. I don’t see that working out.
What they’re doing is ambitious, but they could spend twenty more years trying to make it perfect (which it will never be) even though it was “good though” a long time ago.
We have learned this lesson before, especially from Cyberpunk. Don’t realease it until it is ready. Even if that takes 20+ years. You have to make it worth the wait, so you might as well perfect it. I have plenty of time and patience.
We’ve also learned from Star Citizen that doesn’t work either.
At some point it’s just mismanagement and blows any potential profit out the window.
Yeah nobody wants to be a duke nukem forever, not even duke.
Well today I learned why Duke Nukem all of a sudden was inserted into my life at the age of 10. Never even played the games, my Dad would just not stop talking about it.
There’s a balance. You want it good before releasing, but you don’t want to spend forever chasing perfection. It’s hard as outsiders to know which they’re doing sadly.
