I’d imagine it depends a lot on the festival. I’ve never been to anime festivals but several comic & boardgame conventions, if you know people going to hang out with, or you otherwise like massive social situations it can be some great fun. If you don’t and don’t like crowds it can be a bit daunting and feel like you’re basically paying entry to walk through vendors and buy stuff.

I posted about this a few weeks ago, it’s so frustrating seeing texas tax situation get more and more regressive.

It seems this is the new texas republican strategy, ban things that are not a problem in the first place, if you see the propositions that were on their ballot this election you’ll see this in effect with their new targeted group, prop 16, which bans non-citizens from voting in the state…which they already can’t do and they have no evidence of them doing.

I imagine it’s mostly to scare their base to show up to election days so that they can get their other measures passed, which were mostly regressive tax bans & reforms that mostly help the wealthy.

Protip: check for fleas, had one of these pop up in my backyard a couple years and and nearly infested our house with them. Still have the fellow though, weirdly likes his ears scratched heavily due to his early flea infestation.
