Europe’s gonna cut itself off from AI and miss this tech boom. At least they still have internal combustion cars, until China eats their lunch.

This weird Netflix show is being brought up on the news as well, they’re using it as proof that we need more patriot act, likely labeling them domestic terrorists who don’t require due process.

The average person trusts Google, Facebook, Microsoft, OpenAI, Apple, and every scammy data mining mobile app that exists. This whole death of Facebook due to data mining and misinformation circlejerk is regarded.
You think Microsoft gives you privacy?
They make billions on targeted ad revenue.
If you want to stay on the bleeding edge you’ve got to be a reversal of Europe, which means allowing innovation and competition. Hence why VT is nearly 70% US.
This is why they require a TPM, your motherboard will be DRM against you owning the operating system and it will only run signed software.

Why does Totem need to be replaced?
Totem is still a GTK3 app and is unmaintained (in part due to a crusty codebase), seeing no major development in years. Replacing it with a modern GTK4/libadwaita app designed to use modern technologies and meet modern needs has been a “high priority” for GNOME.
I do wish it had a self hosted docker though. I could see Proton mail and thunder mail adopting it that way, which would be neat.

Its a search engine, what are they going to do, give some guys search history to Putin?
I generally use it for finding streaming sites.
Docker doesn’t exist in a usable state on Windows, so its an attempt to allow management of servers using Windows, as Windows Server fades away from usage entirely.
