LMG claims that an investigation by a third party found the allegations of toxic work conditions and sexual misconduct as „unfounded and unfair“.
It’s of course anyone’s guess what the reality looks like.
They definitely have improved their reviews and seem much less error prone these days.
That union thing is bullshit tho. Linus never claimed he would refuse to let his workers unionise (in fact, iirc, he couldn’t even legally do so in Canada), he just (repeatedly) stated, that he’d see it as a failure on his and his company’s side, if his employees felt the need to unionise in the first place. That’s a big difference.
Can’t say anything to that part as I do not remember it. But I personally believe it to be a non-issue until there’s precedent. Politically, Linus generally seems to be fairly sane. He’s openly a huge fan of Lina Khan, for example and has openly critcised the current US-administration a number of times.
They did acknowledge #1 and #2 as mistakes, miscommunication and growing pains and vowed to do better. I think it was a bit overblown and handled in bad faith by GN‘s reporting. Not that that’s an excuse but imo they did their best to rectify that situation. The reporting has been more accurate and bo other scandal of this type has happened, so far.
The investigation about the working conditions and sexual harassment concluded those allegations were „unfounded and unfair“, to use LMG’s words. They did not get into details and it is a he-said/she-said situation. It’s anyone’s guess what/whom to believe.
I think, all in all, Linus stepping back from the CEO position (which, to be clear, he did a little while before those problems came to light) improved upon most, if not all of the problems, as far as I can tell. I do still watch LTT on occasion but less so. Primarily though, because both, my interests changed as did their content.
I‘ve only ever read the German versions but to my knowledge, they have been originally written in french and it’s up to the translators to also translate the humour. As is generally with any media (books, movies, games, etc.).
That can work very well and sometimes translations can even add additional humour that the originals didn’t have.

How about the inbetween: a AA game
It’s more about the training data, I suppose. Those thorns getting into that might potentially mess something up? Idk, it’s just what I they said.
Either them or someone else also doing it (not sure if there’s more than one) explained they’re doing it to poison the data for AI
That I do not know. I live in Germany so the expensive prices is all I get.
Price matching?
The most ethical music streaming service is probably Qobuz, followed by Tidal. If those are too niche for you, the next best in artist payout would be Apple, then Deezer and YouTube Music. And the only one worse than Spotify is Amazon.
Apple is actually a much better choice than Spotify. My numbers are a few years old but iirc, Apple pays artists almost twice as much as Spotify. Only Amazon has a worse artist payout than Spotify. Of course, Tidal and Qobuz are still much better than Apple but they also have the limitations you’ve mentioned. Oh and Apple and the others don’t fill out playlists with AI generated music so they themselves can get the payout for the plays. You know, like Spotify does. Realistically, even YouTube Music is more ethical than Spotify these days and that’s saying something.
Where did you think „getting knocked up“ came from?
Bloodstone was positively awesome.
I know. Gnome Web among others. But why isn’t there any more mainstream example? Why does everyone use blink?
I mean third party and multi platform. And I know Gnome Web does. But why isn’t there a bigger, more mainstream browser that isn’t Safari, that does?
Can anybody tell me why no one uses webkit?

I mean, everything got more expensive. And I do hear that more and more youth centres and such are closing down, taking away places to socialise for young people in particular.
What has disappeared for me personally though is school/uni as a place to socialise at. I’ve never had the need before to search out specific places to meet people. It just happened organically. Now I don’t even know where I‘d even find new people. I’m stuck with just the few I knew back in school and uni and they mostly don’t live anywhere close by.

There’s no place to socialize though. I wouldn’t know where I could meet people my age (20s) that doesn’t cost money or includes activities that I don’t like (e.g. clubbing).
I don’t like lumping in the individual with the group. I hate blanket statements. All they do is enforce the „us vs them“ mentality that, in my opinion, is a big part of the problem in the first place.
But I also have the privilege of living in a country with a fairly well trained and regulated police force (Germany). I know it’s not perfect but it’s also not terrible.
Most individual cops I‘ve met do their job for the right reasons.
