Don’t apply for a job subject to the FMCSR in the US and expect to be able to use. The feds and insurance companies don’t care if it’s legal locally. But it does pay.
My last laptop was an HP Stream. Crappy laptop, but it had a touchscreen. It worked fine whenever I remembered that it had a touch screen. I didn’t have to set anything up, it was just automagicly setup for me on Ubuntu. Couldn’t tell you how responsive it was and that laptop would have been a poor benchmark anyways, but if I touched a button or scrolled the screen, it would do the thing.
Sorry, I’m old. Prefer a physical keyboard to a screen keyboard any day.

will show you what processes are using your GPU.
On Nextcloud, 6TB available but I’m only using about 100GB. Google, Dropbox, and iCloud are all free tier, don’t use them much.
It was early 00’s in the US South and basically boiled down to don’t have sex before marriage, you WILL catch an STD (boys) or get pregnant (girls). Our science teacher though, went off script their last year teaching, and said we’d likely ignore the advice to abstain and if we did have sex, to use a condom. I always liked that teacher.
This same public high school also taught the life and death of Jesus in history class.
Is that all? Dumbasses.
Honestly, I would settle for a low speed passenger rail network if it could actually get me where I need to go. Which currently it doesn’t.
I got tired of the torn up cuffs and jean cuffs are uncomfortable to walk on when you don’t have shoes on.
So far, meh. Not good or bad for me and mine, but I’m watching my country devolve in double time with damned little I can do about it except prepare for the worst and hope for the best. It’s a bit nerve racking to be honest.
Welcome to Lemmy!
I can’t say that I run into much hostility here. Disagreements, sure, but not much hostility.
Going off what remains of your account’s post history though, you kinda come off as a troll. Or a bot. Either would draw the ire of community and instance mods.
No shit Sherlock! Now you got any solutions to the problem? Preferably one that doesn’t involve invoking rules 9 or 556?
Pretty much all of them, for much the same reason. If I’m paying you directly, you shouldn’t be showing me ads. If the amount you’re charging is not enough to support your service without showing me ads in addition to my subscription fee than you should raise the damned price.
To be clear, Ad supported is fine. Subscription supported, fine. I’m not paying a subscription to watch ads.
I’d say no.
I don’t think they federate. Least ways, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a post from a bluesky account, on lemmy or mastodon, and SDF hadn’t blocked them server side last I checked.
I think they’re a bit like truth social, not federating and off doing their own thing.
I’m subscribed to the community [email protected] .Additionally I’ll occasionally browse All, but most of the time it’s from people mentioning a new community in a discussion.
Might take a look at NextCloud though it may be overkill as it’s intended to be a full Google Cloud or Office365 replacement. On the other hand, it is modular so you only have to set up what you actually need.
Clothing stops being fashionable when they are ripped or damaged. Full stop.
I use poweoff generally. On my laptop, the cellular card prevents sleep, and my desktop often refuses to wake from sleep.
Honestly not much fussed about it as both systems boot so quickly that it’s not much of an issue.
As for SSD longevity, again not much fussed about it. In the last 20 years I’ve only had 1 SSD fail so far. A 40GB drive that bought in 2007ish finally failed last year.
There’s a couple of options.
I’ve used Grocy. It’s not intended for that particular use case but it would work. More for Grocery management.
