I am waiting for Arch SteamOS desktop to be released before trying Linux again. Hopefully sooner than later, since I want to cleanly migrate before DOGE starts to wander the halls of Microsoft.

Honestly, Denuvo makes me want to sail the high seas. When I browse Steam and see Denuvo, I mentally write off the game, saying “Might buy this in a couple of years if they fix this shit.” If the company fails to do so, the game becomes valid to pirate, far as I am personally concerned.

I am not paying money to be rootkitted.

My takeaway: if they don’t respond to evidence in good faith, you can simply consider them as enemies. From there, the only time to argue with them is when you want to convince other people in the room about your position. The court of public opinion is the key to obtaining a better society.

I think rejecting AI is a mistake. All that does is allow fascists to have mastery of the tools. Like money, guns, media, food, oil, or any number of other influential things, you don’t want a select few people to have sole control over them.

Instead, we should adopt AI and make it work towards many good ends for the everyday person. For example, we can someday have AI that can be effective and cheap lawyers. This would allow small companies to oppose the likes of Disney in court, or for black dudes to successfully argue their innocence in court against cops.

AI, like any tool, reflects the intent of their user.

If America goes to war with Mexico, I think may very well have Cartel forces stalking Republicans in Texas. We live in a world of possibilities, ones that shouldn’t have been plausible even a year ago.

I think the way to resolve this is a holiday window for voting. The workers schedule 4 days of the week for work, then the remaining 3 days are paid holidays. The worker selects which days of that holiday week are best for them. If they don’t vote, their company is fined an amount double to the worker’s weekly pay.

Yup. Apparently the same gold bar from Costco was about $2k a year ago. I have been doomspending as of late, stocking on stuff and renovating, since I don’t believe in the American Dollar anymore. Up to a year ago, I was seriously trying to develop my wealth, slowly but steadily, expecting to cash out in a couple decades.

Now…well, what is the point? The death rattle of our institutions makes it clear that there is no good future to rely upon.

For me, Euros. I am aligned with the concept of democracy and civil rights, so it feels natural to participate with their economy. Plus, they have an ocean dividing them and US, so they have a bit of insulation when our streets start being painted red.

Mind, I am also tempted to drop about $3k for a gold bar from CostCo.

If we get a new Theodore and Franklin as our presidents, that certainly would be preferable. Unfortunately, I have the feeling that isn’t happening. Unlike those days of yore, we got a president who wants to be king, and cares not who else has to pay the price for it.

That would certainly resolve the Trump problem.

It is one of the reasons why a civil war would actually do America good: for security’s sake, the non-fascist side would have to overhaul their systems.

This is the stupidest timeline, that the best solution to a problem lines up with social armageddon.

It isn’t mutually exclusive. Plus a holiday dedicated to voting means a day is open for researching a candidate, if needed. Also, psychologically, having the purpose of the holiday explicit means that some people will follow the rules of it. There are many prongs to getting people to vote.

Do foreign airlines that come into the country do this? Would an EU plane be safe from this bullshit?

I hope New Jersey’s governor decides to deploy their national guard over this. If ICE arrests mayors, then they will inevitably work their way to the top. This is a red line.
