I think there’s a kernel of truth in what you say. I actually paid YouTube extortion to get premium but it doesn’t matter. If the channel is large enough, they’ll make the commercial as part of their “content”. At my age I feel like I’ve already seen enough advertising for a lifetime. I’m so sick of being constantly solicited. If I really want to see something, I pay extra to avoid ads and if I can’t I just walk away. Read a book.

Not sure if this qualifies as planned obsolescence but Acer stopped supporting a tablet I bought in less than two years. I have been avoiding Acer products ever since.

Nearly all of them. Even if you pay for premium or use an ad blocker, the YouTubers just make their own commercials as part of the content and the more popular they become the more ads they create.

Think about it. He can never really know if someone likes him or is just sucking up because he’s rich and famous. Gotta be rough not having any friends. I think that’s why some rich people get caught with prostitutes. They KNOW where they stand.

My nephew does that. I think it’s weird.

I DID do that with my step-father but that’s different, I think, because when my mom was dating I wasn’t going to call him Dad. And after years of calling him by his name it felt weird to start calling him anything else.
