I had many of the same revelations when I got out of the military. I worked nights and Armed Forces Network played literally every game. I watched so much football on my last deployment. Once I got out, I realized how hard it was to follow football. Once I stared a family I gave up completely.

What a shit article. The courts ruled that the hundreds of employees that were placed on admin leave pending termination for working there less than a year were fired illegally. They cannot fire them. Since they are still on admin leave they have to come back.
What they failed to mention is that all of the employees who were put on admin leave pending termination, who then took the “fork” offer do not get to come back because they “quit.”
The GSA was and is DOGE central and is completely broken right now.
Age verification is ID verification. By requiring ID site owners effectively have a monopoly on the bot armies infesting reddit, YouTube, Facebook, etc. These armies aren’t going away. They are just getting smarter and more influential with AI.
Everyone is focusing on the privacy aspect and glossing over the fact that these laws give Silicon Valley complete control over online discourse. They’ll know who exactly who you are and how best to manipulate you with their bots.
For me at least it’s that the perspective is off. When someone is learning to draw or is just a shitty artist and the perspective isn’t very good you can immediately identify it. It looks like someone drew “front” eyes on the side of the head or something like that. When AI makes an image, the perspective is off, just in a different ways. The eye doesn’t look like a “front” eye or a “side” eye or a “top” eye. It looks like all of them and none of them. It makes the entire thing unsettling.
Trump may throw a shit fit because some stole his power by firing her. He’s a petty petty man and may just keep her because of that.
I feel like the word “glitch” is also too humanizing. There wasn’t a programming error, the LLM picked what was statistically likely to come next. It’s working as it’s suppose to. “Glitch” implies some error.
Imagine if the AI bots learn to target and prioritize content not generated by AI (if they aren’t already). Labeling your content as organic makes it so much more appetizing for bots.
I never realized all this but it’s so true. I browse and comment until I’m caught up, then log off.
