Also the whale descriptions are the point, the book is about the enlightenment drive to understand and therefore master nature with Moby dick standing in as a refutation of that idea, being unconquerable no matter how much knowledge you have. Without the descriptions you could write off Ishmael and the crew as a bunch of idiots who just didn’t have the know how to take down Moby dick.

Addiction and dependence are two different things. Dependence means you have to take a drug otherwise you’ll suffer negative consequences, addiction means you keep taking a drug despite the negative consequences it’s causing. Dependence isn’t a problem in and of itself, it becomes a problem when it’s intertwined with addiction.

That’s how you get more apathy and less people voting. Yes democrats have a problem with playing nice and not getting anything passed but they also have a larger identity problem of what they stand for and why people should vote for them, this is way more the reason Kamala lost then soft democrats as shown by the lack of turnout. If democrats don’t stand for democracy, what are they standing for?

Also the more prevalent this becomes the more they will use it against there left flank as well. The less there is a threat of a third party emerging due to gerrymandering, the more centrist the democrats can go and the more they can ignore the left.

Yeah but most people don’t buy them. If you release a product that uses aa batteries most people are going to buy disposable ones and most of them will not dispose of them properly and just throw them in the trash. Some people using rechargeable AA batteries is nice but it’s better to just remove the option for disposable batteries and make it with a builtin rechargeable battery.
