You usually don’t get holidays for the first year. After that you start with two weeks. It usually takes much longer to get another week and you might get 4 weeks after 10 years, 15 years in many cases.

Fortunately for me, my bosses respect me and when they couldn’t get me the pay bump I wanted they gladly hooked me up with time off instead.

You might be interested in giving Nobara Linux a try. It has a built in automated NVIDIA driver manager that you can run on first boot.

Yeah, depending on its age an NVIDIA GPU can be a non-starter. That said, I had a 2060 when I first transitioned to Linux last year and had no issues.

There are clowns in every community and they are typically the loudest ones. Sorry Linux didn’t work out for you this time around. Hardware variables are hard to account for which if I had to bet, hardware weirdness is likely to be the root of your issue.

Just put windows on a laptop from a few years ago and you can revisit that feeling. Haha

REAPER rules. I started on ProTools in 2010. Ditched it for Reaper in 2012 and never looked back. Best $60 I ever spent. I’ve gladly bought multiple licenses for my devices over the years.

Nobara or Bazzite are your best Linux options for gaming. I’ve been on Nobara for over a year with nothing but good things to say about the distro and its community.
