as like a “teenage engagement” sort of thing, since it wasn’t a legal thing and they could always break up if they didn’t work out, a freshman (15f) and junior (17m) at my high school agreed to get engaged.

I recently got engaged to my fiancé at age 18.

    Lived in West Africa. 14 was common, with a few “promised” kids as low as 8/9/10. To dudes in their 30s and 40s.

    But hey, the US has this all the time, and is no better than developing countries in some states.
