They’re making that joke under an article that describes the experiences of a young woman who was apparently raped by Clavicular, so they though this would be a good setting to make that joke because they did not even consider if it would be bad to undermine the severity of sexual violence for their funny haha joke about how the right people deserve to get raped.
A joke in poor taste no doubt. Call me crazy but I don’t think anybody “deserves” to get raped/killed. I don’t care what this guy did, it doesn’t justify doing unto them evil. Too many vindictive people out there conflate revenge and spite with justice. And to be fair, a case like this has no justice. The best you can do is lock the fucker up so he cannot harm anybody else, and do what u can to help the victim recover.
I do think it is interesting that your response to this was more in empathy with the rapists than it was the undermining the severity of sexual violence and ridiculing victims, and then went on to not even consider what the victim would want as justice.
