I’ve heard a “news” segment discussing the popularity of ready made meals from the grocery store, but that does reflect reality or is it mere fiction? If it were the case: is it because they don’t know how to cook at all? Is it due to lack of time left for meal preparation after work or due to cost of living so purchasing those is cheaper?


Where are you from? Ready meals are popular in the UK too, but not in Germany, for example.
I don’t know how popular they are, but this German right here is living off them and there are multiple German startups shipping them to your doorstep. The good ones are one step below fresh food, but a good step above convenience, so they just make sense for me
Convenience is always the driver for these things. Just be weary when the quality of the convenient option necessarily goes down. Sometimes it is that much more difficult to get back into the old pattern.
