There’s just too many things I’d want to learn, but I probably can’t do everything at once. And I also don’t know where to start when it comes to basically any topic.
Courses could absolutely work, but they tend to be paid, so that’s a problem.
How do you approach learning new material, especially if you only know a goal rather than a full/partial path?


Skills or subjects?
Learning topics like math or history, just dive into things you may not be ready for and just take it slow, looking up things you don’t know as you encounter them.
For skills, it might help to get a teacher for more physical things, like athletics or music, so you don’t hurt yourself. For arts, unless you need a studio, just try it and follow YouTube tutorials as you go.
Independent learning will almost always be slower than a teacher, but at least you’ll make progress.
