There’s just too many things I’d want to learn, but I probably can’t do everything at once. And I also don’t know where to start when it comes to basically any topic.
Courses could absolutely work, but they tend to be paid, so that’s a problem.
How do you approach learning new material, especially if you only know a goal rather than a full/partial path?

Just high school.
I didn’t manage to keep a good score during the first year, so I got kicked out, and I have to wait a year to get back as I have to go through admissions same way as a brand new student (and also none of my passed subjects will count except for English…).
That was computer science.
As for what I’d be interested to learn and get into, and why:
I don’t think that’s a complete list, just what’s on my mind.
For the languages, first of all I’d definitely second schipelblorp’s post about Anki.
But also, shameless plug, you should join !languagelearning@sopuli.xyz (if you haven’t already). Participate in the weekly threads to give yourself some accountability, ask for tips from other learners, etc. I know there are also some specific communities for learning German.
