We have a cat, has been like 4 months since we adopted her. Since then she has only commited just one crime, that was chew the internet’s optic fiber.

Yesterday, I was playing Dragon Quest using Punes. I started a new log, from level 1 to level 11. If you have played DQ before you now that the only way to advance in that game is grinding. The thing is that I set my PC in other shelf to have more space to be able to add some speakers in the desk, now, our cat is able to get over the PC, this was the case latenight. By accident, she step on in the on/off button, and pum. I lost everything. I was saving my game by going to the king every level I upload, but for some odd reason, Punes save the game into sram once you close the emulator. When I turned on the PC again… I just got the 1000 kitties stare.

My dog chewed a plastic bag containing the special proprietary cables for a computer display/input switch. I think she just wanted the bag and the cables were collateral damage, because she’s never chewed cables on their own before or since.

They refuse to sell the cables separately so it made the device itself useless unless I buy another one for like $100. Ended up not bothering and giving up on having a peripheral switch because I refuse to give them that much money again just because a $10 set of cables broke and reward their shitty business practices. I just manually switch the actual display and USB cables when I want to control another computer.

Also blew my mind just how strong a bite force even a small breed dog has. She totally crushed the metal casing surrounding the plug and shattered the plastic molding in the less than one minute she had it. I can’t even do that with my teeth (then again I’ve never tried).

My cats looove hitting my power button. It got so bad that I started setting a box on top of my computer just to block the power button, but they frequently still try to push the box away so they can turn off the computer.

Locked me out of my apartment. Stepped out onto the back patio to water some plants. I closed the door behind me so he wouldn’t get out. He (my cat) did a big stretch and pulled down the lock. I was about to go to work. No keys, no wallet, no phone, no shoes.

My beagle started her life working with me at a dispensary. She got lots of attention from all our customers. She hurt her leg somehow, maybe it was just growing pains, and she had a bit of a limp for a few days. She realized she was getting extra sympathy and attention because of her injury so she started faking it after it healed. She would hear the door, come running out of the office, jump up on her hind legs and get love. Then when the customer turned their attention to me, the budtender, my dog would turn around, whine, and start limping away so they would start petting her again.

As a tiny kitten, she was fascinated by the drawstring on my shorts. One day she launched herself at it, intending to kill the tiny prey creature, and found herself hanging from claws inserted into the vulnerable flesh underneath. Very important vulnerable flesh. I tried to scream, but couldn’t draw breath.

My wife insists that I’m making a big deal out of nothing, but how could she understand? I felt that injury for weeks afterwards.

Preface: I live in a rural area. Indoor outdoor cats. They will sleep in the bed sometimes. They also bring in snakes, sometimes. I have found snakes in the bed. And in my shoes.

But for the real mischief story, they also brought in a baby bunny. It was already dead, and not in the bed, thank goodness. They left it on the carpet in the bedroom. Problem is rabbits out here have fleas. Young ones are no exception. I spent 2 months getting rid of those stupid fleas. Powders, pet treatment, diatomaceous earth, the whole thing. Now I try to be a little more vigilant watching what they bring in the cat door.

A few months ago, we had to through away half of a pecan pie because one of our cats got into it. We’ve actually had to start making sure that we put everything away because he’ll get into almost anything, bread, butter, pastries, vegetables, meats and pretty much anything that’s in either a plastic/paper bag or a cardboard box even if it’s not food.

Oh the stories I could tell about my childhood dog, Grace. She was the most ungraceful dog to have ever lived.

When she was still fairly young, she got into some pill bottle somehow, ate all the pills, and then went on a drug induced bender where she proceeded to chew through the entire cushion of our couch. The kicker is that there was a phone sitting there and she managed to step on it just right and leave a 20 minute voicemail of her going to town.

We were poor so we kept that couch and just stuffed a blanket in the giant hole she made. It was hilarious at the time, but in retrospect, it was appallingly bad. I don’t remember if my parents took her to the vet or anything, but she was fine and grew up just fine otherwise.

    No crime, but mischief.

My dog was a chow hound. I made a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and was going to watch some TV and eat my snack.

Put the sandwich down, got up to get the remote and that dog sucked the entire sandwich into his mouth. I turned around and with guilty eyes he looked eyes with me and put the sandwich back. He knew he was stealing!

I found it too funny to be upset at him so let the greedy bugger have it and made another one.

    I loved that dog

I had a black cat named Mindy who brought a live kangaroo rat into my room. She dropped it as soon as I realized what it was. I wish I knew better than to let cats outside back then.
