Been so many years since I last read/heard that word that all I could recall was “stillets”, which is not a word and looking it up only got me to “stilettos”.
Usually, I assume darker blue to be deeper waters.
If you look at it on the satellite view, it actually does look fairly shallow, but not shallow enough to be able to walk across.
