This is OK coverage, late and mild but needed, but the distinction between US citizens and non-citizens is moot to me. I don’t give a third of a turd where a 15-year-old kid terrorized by ICE agents was born. Nobody deserves this, whether they’re ‘legal’ or not.
Agreed but the distinction does matter. Trumpers might have a harder time getting behind the baseless assault of citizens.
Like Nazis hunting Jews. What a proud tradition the US is following. /s
More like slave catchers tracking down fugitive slaves, but sending them back to their supposed “colony of origin”.
The Nazis were following American tradition, btw: How the Nazis Were Inspired by Jim Crow.
Funny way to say constitutional rights are being trampled.
Why don’t the USA press ever call things what they are. It’s insane how they start cost even the unforgivable…
The people doing the trampling are in the same club as the people who own these news rags. It’s all top down from now on so we gotta punch up or get stomped on.
Well it started with the initial abolisment of the Fairness doctrine by the FCC in '87.
While the fairness doctrine was not perfect, removing it and not replacing it with anything allowed the news in the US to become the billionaire
fundedcaptured propaganda machines that they are today. It was a product of its time, when there were just three broadcast television networks. It made less sense with the rise of cable and now internet streaming.
Several news outlets are considered generally reliable (AP, Reuters) but people insist on lumping everything in as “media”. It’s lazy.
