I’m sure anyone reading that has used Android in the last year has some gripes about the media control “tool” too. You cannot get that thing to operate in any sensible way. Screw me for using a music player, an audiobook player, playing videos on Firefox, and a podcast app. I don’t want every one of those to live there forever!!! The only way to get the various apps to disappear is a long press and clicking hide, only until you use the app again. The buttons fail to work all the time. Then it glitches out, gets stuck ⅔ of the way through a swipe and is completely unusable. Maybe I’m missing it but it’s not able to be turned off - I don’t even want it off but it shouldn’t break every single day. I hope someone else is as sick of this part of the UI as I am.

Yes, I know that I should move to Graphene before someone tells me.

Pin media player is the setting name to search for.

Settings -> Sound and vibration -> Media -> Pin media player

Maybe theres a way to fix it but it just sucks ass so I turned it off.

Edit: at least on Pixel 10 with Android 16 Samsung probably smashed it into somewhere else

    Graphene user here.

    Same issues here.

There are many reasons you should move to Graphene but this isn’t one of them.

Yeah. I had a glitch happened today where it started playing a song (I think I inadvertently tapped play while looking at a playlist. I couldn’t shut it off in the app, I pressed pause and the screen said it was paused but it clearly was not), and had to turn it off in the media tool. I don’t know what’s going on with it but this isn’t the first time one or the other has glitched out.
