I bought an HMD skyline phone based on the fact that it was a user serviceable device. I’d like to support that kind of thing so I took a gamble on a “goofy” phone. Best buy’s website had a sale on them and I went for it. When it showed up it came out of the box with a dead USB port. It may be user serviceable but I don’t want to user service it right out of the damn box so I took it back to a best buy store to try and get it replaced. They had never heard of it and wouldn’t touch it. Turns out just because it came from best buy’s website doesn’t mean it came from best buy? I guess? Best they could do for me was to tell me to contact HMD, and the best HMD could do was have me ship it to somebody to get it repaired. This took weeks and when it came back the cameras weren’t aligned properly anymore. I kinda gave up on it after that and bought a used Pixel from eBay. I jammed GrapheneOS onto it and never looked back. I’ll never buy from best buy or HMD again.

I guess I’m more on the ppg side of things. I can see why flying unpowered down the side of mountains would get you into those situations.

Those wildly experienced paraglider pilots are usually getting killed doing advanced acro or flying in sketchy conditions though.

The new sport pilot rules may be for you then. There’s also Ultralight aviation or powered paragliding.

My partner and I try to see Jeff Rosenstock any time we can. Its been probably 5 or 6 shows now haha. Parquet Courts is another one, we’ve seen MJ Landerman a few times as well. Would recommend all.

I put solar panels and battery storage on my house because my local utility is a publicly traded group of thieves. As much of the system as possible has been bought used except for the batteries.

In that, I buy used as much as possible. Fuck buying new, let someone else buy that 1100 dollar phone I’ll buy it on ebay 2 years later for half that.

Shadow of the Erdtree. It’s never gone on sale. I know it’s 40 bucks but ffs its been out for years and the base game goes on sale all the time.

This is essentially how safety training works at my job. We pay some crazy subscription fee per employee to have access to this safety training site that just redirects to other websites that have the actual training on them.

A windscreen on my old motorcycle made a world of difference comfort wise. I image it will help in the cold too.

I wish I lived somewhere I could daily a scooter. I have a small collection of old Honda scooters I managed to snag off of marketplace just before covid/Trump made everything whack expensive. They spend most of the year in the shed because there’s either a foot of snow on the ground or I’m traveling for work.

I recommend getting an upgraded seat for that ruckus because the stock one in my opinion is pretty rough. They also make some neat bags that fit in the under seat area.
