Is the hospital okay?

Dante is what ive always used.

How do you think it would play out if proton refuses lawful orders from a court in the country they operate in?
I do think proton does a lot of misleading advertising, but its still on the user to research and have good opsec. Paying with a card when crypto is an option, using the same service for both email and a vpn, using that service from a public wifi near where you are known to live while actively doing crimes. A lot of mistakes made on the users part. Proton is running a business not a criminal protection racket, you cant expect them to help you get away with crimes just because they claim to value privacy.

I pay nothing and just rotate between gmail accounts when one hits a usage limit. I have about a dozen accounts so between all of them i get about as many tokens as i would a single paid account.
I started doing it first with Cursor AI, and i still use that too, but now googles Anti-gravity gives access to Claude and the usage limits are separate from the limits for Gemini. With all of it combined I have more then enough usage to do whatever i want without paying any of the corps a dime.

Or better yet Unsubscribe but dont stop using ths service, if enough go from paying customer to wasteful freeloader they will lose even more.

What sort of things are people trying to screen share on discord? Are you watching a movie together, playing a game, or ???

For a private screen you can use a web based solution like mirotalk or jitsi. Pretty much all web browsers support screenshare via an extension these days so its mostly just a matter of finding a server with low latency (or running your own)
I tend to stream directly to peertube so thats what i was thinking of for obs but its true that obs isnt ideal for smaller private sessions.

This attitude is exactly why you and most people will be continuing to repeate this cycle of enshittification every 5 years or so.
You went from using multiple apps to a big clunky web browser that only connects to one service and you trust that service not to screw you over one day.
This is why we cant have nice things.

Stoat would be nice except its still a silo, you can self host your own silo but it doesnt federate, cant even use their offical app with self hosted instances. Upryzing seems like it might be going in a good direction but too early to know for sure.
Xmpp or matrix are the only truely decentralized options and neither is up for doing all the tasks discord gets used for.
The problem is many folks dont grasp the concept of doing one thing well over doing lots of things just sort of okay.
My suggestion to friends is figure out what discord features you actually care about and find apps that do those things. Muble for audio, obs to screen share, xmpp or matrix to chat, etc.

You cant get esa for someone else, your room mate would be the one who needs to speak to a dr.

You literally just talk to your doctor and ask then to write an esa letter for you, or buy one from some online scam website and hope the landlord doesnt call to check.

I dont really need it but good launchers make things easier, especially on linux where sometimes a specific patch or version of something like proton is needed and i dont want to spend hours figuring it out by trial and error.
Im not a fan of launchers being required though, thats just DRM. But projects like Heroic launcher and Lutris are incredibly nice to have. Steam is alright, its hard to hate on a company that has done as much for linux gaming as valve has, but they do have their problems.

Meshcore is pretty impressive, meshtastic is neat too. Not much in terms of bandwidth but the reach is incredible.

I Just transfered over to porkbun after namecheap decided to raise renewal cost again, wish id done it sooner.

Besides the fact that Proton is based in Switzerland where government warrants aren’t issued willy-nilly, please learn how the mathematics behind encryption works – or, if not, at least trust that it does. For emails that are sent E2EE, Proton can only have garbled data that requires a key they don’t have.
Email is not end to end encrypted and this is the first of protons many misleading claims. Best case the contents is encrypted but not info like recipents address or sender’s IP. Leading to less knowledgeable activists not understanding that using protons vpn and their email together can actually lead to users giving proton more then enough info for law enforcement to track someo e down.
Proton doesnt even hide this if you look at their reports they comply with court orders regularly. In theory proton could also back door any of their users keys since everything is done on the fly in the browser and proton controls all of the code. This is something their predecessors had been ordered to do and chose to shutdown instead of complying. Somehow i dont see proton opting to close up shop just to protect a few users who theyre told are criminals.
People who actually care about encryption already had a solution long before proton, called PGP and thats yet to be broken. Why other then vendor lock in would you encourage people to use anything else? (this is a criticism i have of tuta also)
Also just fyi proton moved out of Switzerland last year for guess what… Legal reasons!
Glad to hear you agree with me and dont want to debate because literally none of what ive said is speculative.

The post is just an ad disguised as a guide and absolutely pointless. You know what else will show people how to disable gemini, googles own ai based search (which now sources protons guide, well above the actual search result that links back to proton)
Sorry if my aversion to advertising comes off as smarmy, im tired of seeing companies go from focusing on providing one good service like email and trying to become the next one corp fits all replacement for google. Instead of doing one thing extremely well it becomes a race to do as many things as they can and get people to replace one monolith with another.
Proton is the most recent to make this shift and its obvious they want to be like google but with “privacy” as a gimmic because its only private until they get a government order telling them to do something to unmask a user or monitor an email.
Its a tmpfs file system that runs in ram
