The thing about Japan is complex for several reasons. On the one hand, late payments only affect your PR application if they took place within the last two years. So it’s not like you’ll be perma-banned from the PR if you paid your National Health Insurance slip late once because you forgot.

But if you do pay late consistently, that’s when it affects your PR. And again, you need to be consistent for two years to be eligible again.

Fraud, debt evasion, tax evasion etc are not a consequence of poverty and instead do affect all other people who do things right. You can’t benefit from tax money and from the system if you’re actively cheating it.

The situation is eerily similar to that of the Crusader States and the Latin Empire in surprise surprise the “Holy Land”.

But I do think the US deserves to be heavily criticised for their hypocritical stance on both normalising and providing minimal support to prevent drug consumption or addiction, as well as crying about drug production, creating extreme violence and abuse which only affects them minimally and instead externalises the violence and conflict to third parties.

So, I think rather than mocking the addicts, these videos are mocking what Greenland would become if they fell under US administration. A country that allows its citizens to rot under drug addiction and blames everyone else but themselves for it.

Yes but it’s also perfectly valid to want your social media experience to be exclusively for easy non political entertainment.

I don’t need to think about that stuff during the five minutes of free time I have between other stuff. I want to see crafts or animals or learn about geography or languages. An apolitical social media experience does not make an apolitical life or individual.
