Yeah, there aren’t any real tells. All the text is as legible as it should be and there’s even a half- cut shipping label on the box. Never seen AI do anything that specific. The plaid pattern on his shirt is also consistent and coherent.
I’m tired of everything being labeled AI without any real evidence to back it up. I get that a lot of things actually are AI, but every time we discredit a real image as AI, that means it’s winning just a little bit more.
There are also many pictures of the same quality (they look like AI but I can’t tell why). I don’t know, looking at this page, I’d lean on AI, but it’s surprisingly well made.
The lighting and shadows are consistent around every object.
The color palette lacks the AI piss-tone.
The faint washed-out silhouette through the window isn’t common in generated images.
The box in the bottom right is clearly sliced with a boxcutter. The tape on the side of the box lines up with the cut section on the raised flap (running under the shipping label).
The JPEG compression artficacting wouldn’t be present on output straight from AI.
What makes me think it’s AI is the cat’s fur is kinda fuzzy and out of focus in a way AI often does but I don’t see in real pictures. The one visible horizontal drawer handle (left of his head, or to his right) looks warped in a strange way. While it could just be a defective or warped handle, the whole thing just has this strange off-ness to it. It’s almost been deep fried and it feels like it was to hide AI artifacting/tells
The horizontal door handle looks weird because it’s catching sunlight through the window in a way that’s making it look similar in color to the white paint background, and there’s subtle banding around the cat that makes it look disjointed from the background.
Both are classic JPEG compression artifacts, not AI.
The shape of the handle is weird, the lighting doesn’t change that. You can also see the jpg artifacting around the edges of the handle that help define the weird shape
