The songs are good. The person was a POS that I’m glad is gone. Sadly. So many musicians of that era are maga turds.

Yeah, but I’m talking about the music. If we only listened to music from good people we wouldn’t have much to choose from.

I think I only really know two Meatloaf songs, and I’m not particularly fond of either of them.

That was a really strange way to interpret my comment. Sorry for trying to participate in the conversation.

your wrong, because I know more then 2 of his songs and Bat out of Hell is lame. Even by 1970s standards.

I like the song “do anything for love” because it is a core memory of my mama singing her heart out to it while we were driving to the beach in Clearwater. I was like 5 or 6.

I can close my eyes and see her now.

Boy, am I glad I’m moving my family back in with my ma. Being she got stage 4. Thank you for reminding me of this memory.

I have one of my mom singing Sheila by Tommy Rowe and every time the song goes “bow bow bow bow” she’d tickle me.

Well, I don’t know about acclaimed, but he did some acting. I liked him in Black Dog, but I think he wasn’t really acting in that one.

I don’t hate it, I just don’t get it. Rock boomers always ranked it pretty high. The album art looks like the most killer metal album ever. And then I drop the needle for the first time and it’s fuckin’ showtunes.

That makes sense, because the music is repurposed from a musical that Meat and Steinman were writing.

Meatloaf was a terrible human being, it’s hard to ignore that and like his music. I used to like that album before I knew though.

I don’t think being pro-Trump and then realising he was a sack of shit and then becoming anti-Trump necessarily counts as being a terrible human being.

His only other controversial stuff seems to be being a climate change denier and anti-vaxxer but I put that down to stupidity over any malice on his part.

Plus you can argue that Jim Steinman was a bigger part of Loafs music than Loaf himself.
