This is a ridiculous measure. I am a Christian, I go to the gym (mixed) and I go, work out and then go home. While it is true that some people, men and women alike, go to the gym to “show skin and muscle”, the vast majority go to stay healthy and try (sometimes failing miserably, like me) to be a bit healthier and lose some weight.
Now, let’s hear all the people here tell me how being a Christian makes me a far-right Republican pedophile homophobic whatever else.
That way of thinking is so tiresome. If I’m not gay, it makes me a homophobic, if I disagree with anything left-leaning, it makes me a Nazi, if I disagree with anything right-leaning, now I’m a liberal.
While I am disgusted to no end at how so many people is dumping on Jesus, I do understand that the only cure for ignorance is not wanting to be ignorant anymore and doing something about it, like having open minded conversations instead of doing, well, that which I mentioned above.
No wonder this world is failing the way it is. Hopefully more people will understand the merciful sacrifice of Jesus so that everyone that trusts Him does not ‘die’, but Jas access to eternal life. We all will be removed from this world at some point. Make what you will from this, I for one want to be able to enjoy a new earth when it’s time. And if I am wrong, well, no harm done, it is what it is, but if right, I certainly don’t want to risk the consequences.
I was with you the first 4 paragraphs. But than the Him and merciful stuff started and you lost me.
That is part of why I personally can’t get on board with any religion. In one way or the other, it always gets snuck in and subtly trying to convert you.
Yes, for the open conversation. Yes to the fact there is no middle ground anymore and everything is extreme. Yes this whole gym thing is ridiculous.
But no to the Middle Eastern carpenter’s sacrifice, eternal life and a new earth.
BTW no downvote from me because I respect your opinion. Even if it is definitely not for me.
Your first paragraph was enough. You didn’t need to go on a schizo rant against somebody that isn’t here cause you feel a constant need to defend yourself.
Genuinely, as a 15+ year former AoG Christian, you’re not being persecuted man, and neither is Christianity. It’s all an act keep you on the defensive like this and running back to the church because everyone is out to get you and them.
You’re just fine on your own man, and you are a stronger force for good when you are doing it for yourself. It’s scary but just think about it for a bit, and don’t be afraid to question the things you know in your heart are questionable. All the best to you.

Wait, isn’t the conclusion just Pascal’s wager?

How’s being a far-right Republican pedophile homophobic whatever else working out for you? You happy? Can you go say it to yourself in the mirror?
May I ask, since you believe in magical sky fairies, why you don’t just pray for bigger muscles?
Is it because you know prayer achieves nothing and there is no god?
As proven by multiple large rigorous studies
I will also need a rigorous study to prove Santa Claus isn’t real. Also Zeus.
You mean Santa isn’t real?! Then who’s the guy I keep catching my mom making out with? 🧐
