    If you don’t give a fuck, that kind of makes it easier for Sony to not give a fuck in return.

    They seem to be betting many of those 1/5th purchases will instead relent to digital if it’s the only option. Not all of them, but enough that combined with the other 80%, it’s a healthy business model.

    I’m not a fan of the industry trend, but discussions have said a lot of times - companies are not your friends; even the best ones are out to make money from you. So to bring back physical or anything like it, we’d need a way of showing it’s actually worth it (or, say, legally mandatory) for them.

        What does that mean - that you will decide to include disc drives in your next console? But you don’t make one. Sony does. They’re the ones to convince. You not being convinced is irrelevant and doesn’t matter.

        It’s more important to look at the sum of arguments and evidence and try to understand why this seems like a logical outcome to a greed-focused outside party, even enough to absorb the backlash and damage to preservation, than it is to “be convinced”.
