You know, I’ve always been out of tune a bit with my country, but the past decade -, after a couple decades of strong media gaslighting - has been surreal to experience. It’s crazy how well the propaganda has worked. So many things (and people) that I had previously thought were illegal and/or morally abhorrent seem to just be accepted.
Yeah, I know people will say “It’s been happening this whole time maaaan”
But for real, it feels overnight, watching how quickly all of this “That doesn’t happen in this country.” Piles on at once…
I mean heck, 2020 feels like it was a year ago, and things sucked really bad, but it’s crazy how much “flooding the zone” with bullshit really manufactures a sort of resigned compliance.
We need to be pushing back at every turn. Even though it’s exhausting. I myself have been (respectfully) badgering my lawmakers to strike down these Internet ID bills, for instance.
