There has been a 50% increase in the number of children and young people being admitted to hospital with traumatic brain injuries as a result of e-scooter incidents, Children's Health Ireland has said.
Germany has the same problem, too. Those eScooters are tricky to drive, esp. if you hit a pot hole. You’ll often see young people driving together on one scooter and there are also a lot of crashes with really young children, who are not allowed to drive them.
I never said they’re not dangerous, I never said kids should be allowed to ride them, I never said this is not something serious that needs to be looked into. I said that 6 extra cases in one year is statistically insignificant. It’s not an increase in cases from last year, even if it is a 50% larger number, because when you’re dealing with small numbers random happenstance can skew your data by quite a lot.
