I’m never usually an early access person, but Unknown Worlds has a proven track record. They’ve released two games from early access after a very open development period. Plus they fuck over Krafton if it sells well, so win win IMHO.

This is how I’m thinking about it. Plus, I can buy the game and play it once it’s completed. There is no obligation to play it the second I download it

Krafton. They pretty much tried to sabotage Subnautica 2 to make sure they wouldn’t need to pay out 250 million to the development studio. It went to court and the judge pretty much told Krafton to suck it. It was such a stupid move that after the successful early access launch Krafton stock actually went down instead of up.

Thanks for the refresher. That was a period when I didn’t read much news and missed the details. So buying the game is okay then. :-) Will put it to wishlist now.

Oh no, I don’t worry they won’t finish it. I worry playing half a game 5 times and starting again for every “new cup added” update 😁 Like I did with the previous titles.

I just want a complete run “for the first time” this time.

I learned my lesson with Palworld. I won’t play games until full release because you invest time into a game and then a large update releases 6 months after I’m playing something else. Then you jump back in and have to relearn everything again!

Exactly. Plus the “omg look at that!” Is gone. Subnautica had such awesome jaw-dropping moments and environments and especially aurally… I killed a lot of it by cutting the experience in pieces…

Well it’s usually cheaper during early access. I got the game for $32, so you could just grab it and then wait for full release.

I really do not care about the price. I even wondered why it’s cheap-ish at all. This game will most likely bring tons of fun hours like no other games do. Really worth every cent. Also i bought it on all accounts already, i will just try to restrain myself from installing or even playing…maybe…hopefully. :-)

Aye, I remember trying subnautica on my friend’s computer, and being happy enough with the game as it was then to buy it. That’s still my ‘test’ for buying early access games: would I be happy if the developers literally died today and nothing more was done with it, OR is it less than $5 and I’m really happy with what progress has been made towards the game that I want?
