Game consoles usually become cheaper in the years following their launch. Not so the PlayStation 5, which was launched in November 2020 for $399, but five and a half years later costs $599. This obviously has a drastic effect on sales.

    I’m sure that there’s some rule of economics that says once most consumers who would buy something have bought it, sales will drop.
