It’s extremely common for citizens of the DPRK to visit, live, and/or work in the PRC. The two countries are on favorable terms. The DPRK and ROK are at war, defectors are treated by both sides as such. The overwhelming majority of cases where it’s claimed that the families of defectors are punished are bullshit tall tales.
