Believing CoD fans want a subscription option - or Game Pass subscribers would swallow price hikes to play COD - betrayed a misunderstanding of both audiences

They want you to own nothing and like it, but also buy yearly licenses for different nothing from the same pedophiles… and be happy for that too?

Xbox is sleep walking to the grave man, they used to be cool

Disclaimer: Haven’t read the article yet.

But isn’t a subscription model “ideal” for cod players? I have the feeling that the new game releases, everyone plays it for a month or two, then never touches it again. Rinse and repeat for the next release a year later.

I imagine every couple months, many players tend to come back whenever new maps and shit are released. There’s also the zombies community; certainly not as big as the multiplayer community, but it’s big enough nonetheless that it’s gone from a niche game mode in the occasional game to a cod staple that’s in every game. And that group loves playing the same game throughout the year (source: I was one of them and if the new games didn’t suck ass I’d still be one). Hell, I still go back and play BO2/3 zombies occasionally, 14/11 years after release, so not owning the game is a big no from me.

When the gamepass version that comes with CoD costs $20, there really isn’t any point in getting it through gamepass unless you plan to completely drop the game after 2 months.

I love how they think removing call of duty and lowering the price (just barely) while keeping the tiers the same would be seen as value adding. Game Pass plans have become shit. They never should have bought COD to begin with. It was on the decline already.

Nothing is the right fit for Game Pass really. Indie devs barely make shit from it being on there. Big games are too big. Turns out everyone loses money except Microsoft.
