I’m assuming that it’s referring to pokemon champions being very broken on release and speculated to be vibe coded due to nature of some of the bugs. But it’s not exclusive to switch 2 as far as I know. So maybe it’s just putting the cart before the horse and assuming Gen 10 will be slop as well. I haven’t played Pokemon since the 3DS (and the last games were so boring that I couldn’t even finish them anyway)

By Gen 10, I’m referring to Pokemon Winds & Waves for the Switch 2. Although, Pokemon Champions is also a diet version of Pokemon Showdown

Oh yeah, just look at the new starter trio AND the world you have to play in. It’s obviously AI-Generated. The devs stopped trying to make good games ever since the 3DS era. You think they WOULDN’T use the low-effort AI shortcuts?

In fact, the Pokemon Legends Z-A devs actually DID get exposed for using AI to write their songs, and they still got away with it (just like how they manage to get away with every other bad descision). They’ve used Generative-AI before, and they’re not gonna stop now.

I actually don’t think they would use AI for creature design. That’s like, their whole shtick at this point (I certainly don’t think anybody’s buying the games for the story), and I think Nintendo is smart enough not to risk the most important aspect of their games. I don’t think the starters even look that bad (aside from the bird) nor AI generated (including the bird). That said, I don’t doubt they’d use AI in almost any other aspect of the game.

Admittedly I haven’t seen any news about the game in like 2 months though, so I could be missing something.

They did straight up steal one of the starters’ design straight from Cassette Beasts, even down to the name lawl

Despite the both of them being Pomeranians, they don’t actually like anything alike. Which tells me they didn’t steal Cassette Beasts’ homework here. Pomeranians aren’t exactly unpopular dogs, so it’s not even a little surprising Pokemon (a game with several other dog breeds) is adding one. It’s also where the both of them derive their names.

Though Pombomb is a significantly better name than Pombon.

Honestly, I would rather have Gamefreak steal people’s fan designs than take the shitty Mega Evolutions that we were stuck with in Legenda Z-A. There isn’t a single Mega exclusive to Z-A that’s good or even passable. Mega Greninja, Mega Starmie, Mega Dragonite, Mega Golurk, Mega Skarmory, Mega Meganium, and all the other new megas are proof that Gamefreak HATES their fans so much that they would rather use an INSULTING design than admit that the fans can make better designs than Gamefreak.

Nah, I think Z-A megas as a whole get too much hate. Don’t get me wrong, there’s a lot of stinkers, but many of them genuinely look good, certainly no worse than other megas. Absol Z, Chandelure, Chesnaught, Delphox, Dragalge, Emboar, Falinks, Golisopod, Magearna, Meowstic, Scolipede, & Scrafty… plus Golurk & Skarmory, which you said look bad. I think ALL of these look good. Some of them I’d even call great.

A lot of the others suffer from trying too hard to fit some theme that doesn’t actually look good in the game. Like Raichu X and Y are intended to be shaped like an X and a Y (though I don’t hate the Y form). Feraligatr looks like a Totodile when its mouth closes. Dragonite is supposed to resemble the pre-evolutions with the wings, while also being a reference to an angel. Notably, most of these look pretty good in their concept art, but translate terribly into the actual flat-colored 3D game.

As a huge Cassette Beasts fan, agreed. They didn’t attempt to imitate the (superior imo) explosive bomb design, with the tail as the fuse and the black fur turning to jagged red to imitate an explosion.

              Pomeranians exist. What a twist.

I just looked up Cassette Beasts. Never played a second of it. I can already confirm that this game is better than Pokemon Winds & Waves, and it’s not even close.
