Muppet show muppet?
Gonzo.
Jim Henson in general?
Chuck from Emmett Otter’s Jugband Christmas.
Not one muppet, but this exchange:
Gonzo: “It just feels weird.”
Rizzo: “That Mr Arrow is dead?”
Gonzo: “Yeah, that. And my pants are filled with starfish.”
Rizzo: “…you and your hobbies!”
Miss Piggie is pure comedy gold. Everything she does is hilarious.
That or Tim Curry
TIL Tim Curry is a Muppet.
As a kid I always hated Miss Piggie since she as sort of the humourless foil to Kermit but I think I can appreciate porcine Yoda a bit more now if only for the voice.
humorless Kermit
But Kermit was clearly the straight man in the show
The Count
Beaker & Professor Honeydew.
Waldorf and Statler are probably runners up
Animal.
I know he won’t be top of many people’s lists of favourite but he’s always been the one I liked. Might not be the funniest or have many lines in any of the shows or films but there’s just something I like about him.
I do love how they did Bohemian Rhapsody, and got around having muppets sing “mama, just killed a man. Put a gun against his head, pulled my trigger now he’s dead” by having Animal repeatedly yell “MAMA!”
Yeh he always seemed rock and roll!
How has nobody said Statler and Waldorf, yet? Easily the best.
Dr Teeth and the Electric Mayhem, as a whole.
I guess within the band, my ranking would go:
- Dr Teeth
- Animal
- Janice
- Zoot
- Floyd
- Lips
Me love cookie
It’s hard to pick a favorite, but the Swedish chef was always a laugh
Pilot from Farscape
Honorable mention, His Royal Frogness Dominar Rygel XVI
Sweetums & Rowlf
It’s so hard to pick just one. They all have their moments.
…except Miss Piggy, who has always annoyed me beyond measure.
Boris Johnson
Rolf. He’s just so chill and cool. Plus he can tinkle those ivories
