  • I mean, that’s pretty damn queer-centric don’t you think? The actual and potential victims of fascism go way beyond just queer people. And there’s plenty flags, both now and historically, that are linked to antifascism. Most of them aren’t red, white and black

Plus I’ve always found the progress pride flag kinda ugly, but that’s just personal. As a queer person who’s into vexillology, a fair few of our flags have that problem. It’s also been used by so many capitalists to falsely give themselves the appearance of being egalitarian

  • Ok but I’m not sure personally what my other option is? Of course there’s buying the music directly, which good on people for doing that. It is the best and most ethical way. But something I always find kinda frustrating about the “just buy your own music” comments that are always all over these posts is I have a very wide music taste and really like to keep up with new music too. I have over 12,000 songs saved on Spotify. I’m also broke, jobless and homeless. I’m sorry but doing that isn’t a viable option for me. I would love to be able to support all these artists but the best I can do is play their music a lot on Spotify and spread the word about them to others. I also go to a lot of gigs but so many acts that I like are big enough that they play big venues and are very expensive to see because of it.

  • I already did this. I joined both, paid them money and then found out they were lacking these features after doing so. I gave them the feedback. Unfortunately the lack of them really gets in the way of how I like to listen to music. I’m sure others will be feeding back the same

Yeah I also saw that Tidal had announced they’d be scaling back the amount of funding on development fairly recently before I tried them out. Which didn’t fill me with much hope. But I’ve not written them off at all. It’s not like Spotify is really raising the bar at all these days anyway

  • I’m from the countryside in north of England and have lived in London at points for many years of my life. London is generally the worst for proper British food, in my experience. The best fry ups, fish and chips and all that you’re gunna get is in small towns or villages where the place itself is bare bones and no frills. Far cheaper too

That said, I’ll of course take most other cuisine over our own. I do like foods that require a good amount of seasoning and some actual spice. Our cuisine is really helped by those too as I see it. But most people here seem to draw the line at black pepper, sadly

  • Ahhh I see from the coverage I’ve heard on this it seemed that people were thinking her appeal was her last chance and if she did go to prison then there’s no chance she’d be allowed to live. That she’d be doing all this going after appeals and a presidential pardon with the “if you don’t give me this, I’m going to tell the world all I know” angle. I guess maybe she could have done that but they called her bluff and threatened her back and she decided living the rest of her life in a comfy prison was better than death? I dunno, correct me if there’s reason not to think that

  • Yeah even putting this situation aside I wasn’t that gassed for GOY. I played GOT and enjoyed it sure, but it was yet another typical open world action-adventure game with no innovation at all really, basically the same gameplay we’ve seen countless times at this point. It just had a halfway decent story, which is a low bar for video games, and looked really pretty. And what you say is very true I agree, “by weebs, for weebs”

Edit: oh my god I knew there were apparently new gameplay elements in GOY. I hadn’t looked it up but suspected it would again be nothing new. And yeah most of it is but I did see they have something…unique. The “Watanabe mode” where it plays lofi beats music over you playing. So cringe

  • I just looked it up now seeing as I hadn’t heard of this either

From what I can gather one of the senior members of the development team, Drew Harrison, made a (mild) joke in a tweet about the suspected shooter in Charlie Kirk’s death. Loads of right wingers, being the thin skinned, wannabe victims but apparently “free speech warriors” that they are, harassed her and contacted Sucker Punch trying to get her fired, threatening to boycott the game and so on. Sucker Punch and/or Sony predictably caved and did so

If I’m missing anything, please feel free to add to this. As I say I’m only just hearing about it and haven’t gone on a deep dive about it
