Next step: choose a name
The shapeshifter lets out a deep sigh filled with dread and anxiety, knowing it’s going to take the whole day.
That was a bizarre time period. I wonder why moms didn’t start hoarding baby diapers at the time. Can you imagine what happens if the supply chain collapses and you run out of diapers? Having enough toilet paper will be the last of your worries at that time.
Fortunately, all of those fears were unfounded, but they were also directed towards some weird items too. If you want to worry about something, toilet paper isn’t really very high on that list.
My idea is a bit different. You would be able to define exactly what you are looking for, and the database would display the results a the order you want.
Let’s say you want a refrigerator with specific dimensions and features. Then, you would sort the results based on how loud they are, with the most silent ones at the top. You look at the results and realize that some models draw too much power, so you filter out all the E and F tier entries.
You know, basic database query stuff.
I propose we make a massive product database. If you need to buy something, you can see your options there on a level playing field. Companies who spend more money don’t get any more visibility than any other. If you don’t feel like spending any money, the database isn’t trying to push you down a spending spiral.
Indeed I have. There’s a particular forest I walk through in my dreams, and it’s clearly inspired by a real forest I used to play in as a child. What happens during that walk is roughly similar every time, but there’s some variation. So, you could say there are reoccurring elements.
Plot armor applies to anything and everything that must be protected for the plot to move forward. The systems of the protagonist are untouchable while the systems of the villain can be hacked in a few minutes.
What’s the opposite of armor though? Some sort of weakness maybe? Why does the villain live in an underground bunker that is made out of dynamite or something extremely flammable? The protagonist never has comical weaknesses like that, while the villain has several.
I can’t wait for the day when you can record dreams at home, and replay them when you’re awake. That would be so cool.
Dreams feel surprisingly normal and real, and I think that has something to do with the way your mind works while dreaming. At least I seem to lose my control of emotions, which can result in violent outbursts, and other types of uncharacteristic behavior. Also, my critical thinking abilities are mostly gone while dreaming, so I’ll just go with the flow and fail to realize how wrong everything is.
I’ve also had a few crossover dreams like the one you mentioned, but those only happen if I’m in very light sleep. If my dreams involve a false wake up, it’s because I’m aware that I need to get up. Normally, that level of awareness is disabled or otherwise unavailable. Probably doing some sort of defragging, updating and maintenance in the background.
😃 Yeah, they sure do. Could be worse though. Haven’t had any nightmares in a long time.
That’s a familiar feeling. In my dreams, things tend to be wrong somehow. You’re expecting something to happen, but that’s not how it works in dreams.
In some cases, the exact opposite happens. You just go with the weird flow, and don’t even realize how wrong everything is. When you wake up, you wonder how you didn’t notice anything odd at the time. While dreaming, you’re so familiar with the unusual rules of the game that even the strangest things don’t make you bat an eyelid.
Yeah, I get the feeling the processes might be similar. At least they both produce really weird nonsense that sort of looks real as long as you don’t look too closely.
Well that’s good news.
When I do remember my dreams, they tend to be bizarre, not troubling. However, occasionally dreams do contain stuff I’m worried about. About 10 years ago, I had a very thin phablet, and I was worried about bending it accidentally. Those thoughts also started creeping into my dreams, which certainly didn’t help that sort of thinking.
Maybe my brain goes like: “Nope! Not writing that down. You’re better off not remembering low quality clown vomit like this. We have at least some stands around here.“
LOL. That was pretty wild. Sounds like your dreams are like a massive blender for random ideas.
My dreams tend to be a bit like that… at least the ones I can remember. Some random stuff always happens for no apparent reasons, and people react in all the wrong ways.
Just increase the temperature until everyone is too busy being dead. Then, you’re free to boil the ocean as much as you like.
You could also rename it to the Totalitarian Dictatorship of America (TDA).
How about pulling the batteries from a remote control and using them to start an electric car? After all, it’s electricity and we all know batteries don’t go bad after sitting idle for 10 years, right? Movie logic. It just works.
But in an apocalypse type of situation, you’ll find a car that has been sitting there for years or even decades. The battery will self discharge over time, and once that hits zero, the car won’t even wake up, let alone move.
If you duelly note something, remember to use training swords.
