No Saddam?

That’s great - it actually says “welcome to the golden age” on the whitehouse homepage. So right now - this is our peak of civilization we’ve heard so much about?

What did they all get wet or something?

I used to cook in restaurants, and the days where I was doing prep in one spot for long stretches were the hardest on my body. Clogs did help a bit though, so although I got aches and pains more of in my back, that may help a little. Maybe clogs plus an insole.
Exact same story for me. Learned on an automatic, but had ridden a dirt bike a few times and understood the concept. First time driving a stick was when I bought my first car and then had to learn fast as I drove it home. Worked out ok.

Young me (and current me too) was always blown away by the Game Genie on the NES. Simple piece of tech that could do so much with so many games.

I’m sure they’ll fix all the bugs with this extra special re release….

I can’t believe they prefer Van Patten’s card to mine.

Top o the line: Robot Coupe (expensive, but will last forever)
Inexpensive but good enough and will do the job well: the Ninja one with the multiple attachments (blender base with a food processor and other things to go on top). We have one and it’s been working out well.

Club Soda (Bangalter from Daft Punk):

Cool - thanks for the details about your gear. Fun to learn about the other adjacent disciplines.

Neat - paraglider here, but I know zero things about skydiving. It does seem to be common though, from talking to PG instructors, that skydivers learning PG tend to be very heavy handed with the controls. Just remember smooth and light if you ever try it out. :)

Love it

I hate with a burning passion QR code scan menus.

Yep - just drive through San Bernardino. Maga country, and yes, it’s not a very nice place to boot.

USian here - been wondering that about credit reporting bureaus and data brokers for a loooooooong time now.

If you’re into paragliding:
Plus, for bottled garlic, the preservatives added to it (citric acid I think) make the bits never really soften when you cook them. It’s always easy to tell when you go out to eat somewhere and order something with garlic all over it if they used garlic from a jar, since the garlic always looks like gravel or uncooked cous cous.
I just learned of this one, but I heard the meaning is more akin to “damn”
