Stop calling it “deported” when they’re being imprisoned in a foreign country.
These two are not being imprisoned (yet), they were never even accused of any crime other than not having authorization to be here (which is not always a crime in the first place), and they were originally from El Salvador.
So as shitty as the situation is, it is likely totally legal, and is a lot different than being deported and imprisoned on made up charges that you couldn’t defend.
Legal and Just and not interchangeable. Don’t play devils advocate, he doesnt need one.
But Legal is how the courts work, and at least right now the courts are the only institution that are putting a check on Trump (sometimes). Congress should be the ones making sure the Presidency is serving the needs of Justice, but that’s not going to happen anytime soon
The only way this ends is the same as Mussolini.
It doesn’t end until the American people end it.
Hey, at least these men (who had no criminal records) were just deported and weren’t sent to CECOT or otherwise jailed. That’s some progress. I guess?
They were originally from El Salvador
Right, and their President has no issues with jailing his own people there on made-up charges, or jailing whoever Trump tells him to jail for a fee.
The fact that neither of those things has happened means that both men see limits to their power.
