    Bit of a weird stance from the defense attorneys: “Our client maintains his innocence, so we’d like you to imprison him for 60 years”

      I think it was probably clear that they couldn’t just let him off, but they wanted to. So they are hitting him with an extreme sentence to justify a future pardon. I mean, when in the USA has anyone ever gotten 80 years for doing a couple drive-bys where no one was even shot, let alone killed?
